Syama Baburaj

Syama is a visual artist working primarily in acrylic and Kerala mural painting, whose practice engages with themes of devotion, cultural memory, and narrative symbolism. Rooted in traditional techniques and informed by a contemporary sensibility, her work reflects a nuanced exploration of form, color, and spiritual expression.

Trained at Vastu Vidya Gurukulam and under the mentorship of eminent artist Mr. Anil V. C., Syama has developed a distinctive visual language that bridges heritage and modern aesthetics. Her works have been presented in group exhibitions, including at Kozhikode Chitrakala Parishath, and have reached international audiences through curated programs in Canada. Her paintings are held in private collections in India and abroad.

Alongside her studio practice, she engages in teaching, conducting workshops and mentoring a global community of art learners.
